Spatial Guidance for Public Transit

Finding the right platform, the right door, the right bus — without asking.

Transit is where independence usually breaks down. Which platform, which side, has it already left? Phoenix Eye reads departure boards and the number on the front of an approaching bus, then places it for you: the 47, arriving on your right, doors roughly four metres ahead. Testers walked routes through the stations of three transport operators, and the failure cases we found — glare on screens, boards mounted too high, buses showing their number on one side only — became the next round of work.

Delivered

Transit reading tested across three operators, covering departure boards, platform signage and vehicle numbers.
